GWIZ is
a hands-on science facility providing interactive exhibits and
programs to the Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte County
communities. The GWIZ Business Partnership Program helps support
our efforts to further our communities’ science education needs
by fulfilling the following goals:
-
Create and maintain interactive exhibits that teach science
and math.
-
Make science content understandable, accessible, and fun.
-
Provide inventive and engaging kids’ programs, camps and
activities.
-
Reach children in underserved communities.
-
Empower science and math teachers with resources and
training.
Traveling exhibits arrive annually from San Francisco’s
world-renowned
Exploratorium. GWIZ is the ONLY partner museum in the
Southeastern
US to offer this set of unique exhibits. During their annual
conferences in Sarasota, the Association of Chemo Receptor
Scientists and the Vision Science Society partner with GWIZ to
provide outreach programs for hundreds of students.
Many
more programs and events could be created with the proper
funding!
This past year GWIZ welcomed more than 41,000 visitors during
the Dinosaurs! Jurassic Fantastic three month exhibition, almost
3,000 people during a three day special Bodies exhibit, and
23,000 visitors during the Ice Age Florida—The Original
Snowbirds exhibition.
